All Programmes lead to a Professional Qualification, known as a Certificate of Competency, issued by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
All training programmes offered within the UK are approved by the mntb/mca and overseen by an Approved Sponsoring Organisation, such as the SSTG.	We sponsor Trainee Officers on behalf of our various Member Companies and utilise a wide range of colleges, universities and other training establishments. Programme Entry Requirements
HND Programme	FD Programme	B.Sc (Hons) Programme
GCSE at grade A-C or SCE ‘S’ at levels 1-3, to include Maths, Physics (or Dual Science) and English.	120 UCAS points in unspecified subjects. However all candidates will also be required to provide evidence of being able to cope with the Maths, and other technical aspects, of the course.	A specified number of UCAS points dependent on the university to include Maths and/or Physics to ‘A’/SCE’H’ level.

Studies provide all the necessary underpinning knowledge for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency's 'Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency'.	As for the HND programme plus it provides the exemptions covering the 2nd & Chief Engineer studies thereby shorting the further training required to the higher certificates.	As for the HND programme plus it incorporates a range of subjects studied to degree level depending on the institution attended.
