Friday 11 June 2010
This competition is being sponsored by Trinity House for the second year running and organised by the Chamber of Shipping. Entry is open to all officer trainees and junior ratings following an MNTB approved training scheme. Entrants must be enrolled at a recognised marine college or university in the UK or Republic of Ireland and be ordinarily resident in the UK.
Entrants must submit a project (suitably illustrated where possible) which might lead to improvements in any aspect of health and safety at sea. The project must contain original ideas and have realistic industry potential.
There is over £ 3,000 to be won, with the prize money being shared between the entrant and the college/university at which they are enrolled. The winners will also be invited to attend the awards ceremony to recognise their achievements.
